Learning Impact Japan 2025
(1EdTech Japan Conference)
Conference overview

The 1EdTech Japan Society, originally established as the IMS Japan Society in June 2016, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, along with the 10th annual conference. Over the past decade, including the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the concept of “realizing educational digital transformation (DX) through digital education ecosystem” has gradually disseminated in Japan and has even been reflected in national policies such as the GIGA School Initiative.

One of the key challenges for the next decade will be strengthening collaboration and exchange with related overseas organizations, as well as contributing to the 1EdTech global community from Japan. This objective was shown in our charter since the organization’s founding and has already been reflected in initiatives such as the development of the OneRoster Japan Profile and the establishment of the 1EdTech Japan Society Product Steering Committee within the 1EdTech Consortium.

Starting this year, we have renamed our annual conference to align with the 1EdTech Consortium’s global brand, the 1EdTech Impact Conference (LIC). Following the original LIC and Learning Impact Europe, ours will be the third in the series, now titled the Learning Impact Japan Conference. This change reflects our intention to incorporate an international perspective, particularly focused on Asia. It is because international members are increasing in 1EdTech Japan Society and because, more importantly, we recognize Japan’s educational ecosystem is no longer composed solely of domestically developed products and services.

On Days 1 and 2 of the conference, we will feature a concentrated series of international sessions— “Learning Impact Asia” Session—with participation from overseas speakers. On Days 3 and 4, the program will retain the distinctive features of the traditional 1EdTech Japan Conference. While some sessions in the “Learning Impact Asia” tracks will be conducted entirely in English, we plan to provide simultaneous machine translation function wherever possible to facilitate meaningful exchange beyond language barriers.
